Scott van der Horst, a hot air balloon pilot since 1973, has operated Wine Country Balloons, a touring company in Sonoma, California’s renown Wine Growing Region, for the past 4 decades. Over the years, many local nonprofit organizations have requested balloon flight donations for fundraising events. However, due to budget constraints, only a limited number of flights could be provided, leaving many charitable opportunities unmet.

To bridge this gap, Scott conceived a solution: a nationwide raffle system featuring hot air balloon rides. Each raffle offers a ride for two as the prize, with tickets sold to reach a total goal. Multiple raffles can run simultaneously, benefiting an unlimited number of nonprofits. Accessing a vast network of Supportive Balloon Ride operators throughout the United States and Canada, the winner can redeem the Flight Certificate almost anywhere.
